looks a bit like a late 60's early 70's Tipain 2.5 diesel, had a 1.5cc with a marine head, got a twin taplin marine if you need a real boat motor.

Happy boating.

Your as sick as I am Bruce, isn't that a Mk2 twin 8cc?

If I die tomorrow, my poor son will probably commit suicide when he finds out how much odd stuff he's got to sell before he gets his inheritance!

Laura will have the same.....pleasure?

She has one fav outboard and has to deal with the rest.

She will be left rather well off when I Exit regardless of "Small Things".

She has absolutely no Idea actually.

Then not my problem Aye?

You guys need to put together a list and regularly update that with current values, otherwise all is likely to be sold off cheap or end up at the tip!

A list.....yes I am starting one for all sorts of things as I consider that a good idea in the future.

I may just add that Laura and I talk about "What I Got and What next I Just Got"........She is of 4 levels of money spent by Her Dad and actually remembers value? .........just how out of the box I am as well?

Level 1: "That was a good purchase I am glad you are pleased"

Level 2: "You spent how much?.....does it actually run or is it just to have? Dad but Wow!"

Level 3: "Dad, If I ever decided to get a driving license that thing in yr hand would buy me a second hand car! Does Cello play with it?"

Level 4: "That is outstanding and Obviously an investment purchase from my inheritance cash. Make a Bloody List!"

And it goes on from there.

It is indeed a Burford Marine Taipan.

I have never seen one with head screws however as usually it was a all one piece top end.

It is very gummed up so gently gently pull it down.

thought it night have been a 2.5 twin ball race engine ran a few of those in the late 60's and early 70,s in rat race and combat in my control line days.
Sold a Doonside Mills ,75 and a 2.5 Black head glow with the short tuned pipe, a few years ago, for way more than i payed. The Taplin, almost got me killed.I belonged to my late father in law, and was in a Keil Kraft launch with a Galloping Ghost Radio. Mobil Tv interference unit, is the best way to describe that radio to those not fam with it. Any mother in law put the mockers on selling the the twin, its going to the great-grandson.
Keeping an Irving 40 diesel and a 20 version as well, Do you have a Tipan Tyro 1.9cc diesel in your collection? Owned a dieselised Quadra, at one stage but it broke fingers.

And the 29 Glo Chief is just showing off, the only other one i have ever seen was in Peter Chins engine collection in the mid 70's be when he was the only engine reviewer that mattered.I think Brian Winch has one as well, but i have lost touch with the flying world, my eyesight went a number of years ago. so cant see the models anymore. Seagulls are big and the boats slow, so i see it before i hit it. Most of the time. LoL

The Ship is an Aerokit 34.5" Vosper in need of some TLC. I will get the scalpel out and do some repairs just to get it in a loved state.

The motor is what it was constructed with in that twin exhaust plumbing through the hull, cooling water inlet and exit and fuel tank all there. Still seems a bit of overkill but what the hey?

Sometime after I get the engine free to turn. I know the engine is worth more than what I paid for the entire thing so 8)
