I don't know if you did a comparison of the 2 Sea Hawk adverts. The first is fitted with a TAS motor and is simply a rebadged TAS. The second has a Victa 125cc motor and is the more typical of the Sea hawk outboards in Aus ie if you can find one with a Sea Hawk decal.





Both use an Cheras leg which was promoted heavily back in the day as an outboard conversion, per the advert below.



In the absence of decals (or remnants thereof), manuals or original receipts, more often than not any outboard similar to those above will be a home conversion rather than a factory built item.

Just as a side note, does anyone know when the Sachs Mac Wankel rotary outboards were made? I know they are from the same sort of period as those Japanese motors but not exactly sure if it was in fact before or after the Yanmar...

1st M.A.C. was 1971 and they went away 1974.

The M.A.C. was an air cooled Sachs stationary engine adaptation...........

The Yanmar advertising should say "The first WATER COOLED Rotary Outboard"......
