it is a pitty

Post by erik0905 »

It is a pitty, how much tranpotation costs are, you are practically giving your motors away, compared to danish prices, but the delivery.
think ahead of doing

Actually Erik, you are quite right - people do almost give the things away here.

Unless of course it's one you desperately want, in which case the price goes up enormously!

You are absolutely right, Erik: transport cost is the problem.
I have been on the lookout for a decent and affordable Seagull here in Belgium
and they are very hard to find and quite expensive, since they are considered a connaisseurs item.

So I widened my search and eventually found a pretty good looking example in Holland.
I drove 600 km to collect, but it was well worth the trip.
The seller told me his initial idea was to take it to the scrapyard,
but he changed his mind thinking he could make someone happy with it.
And did he!

My fuel bill was more than twice of his asking price . . .
only to show how cheap it was.

In your case, it might be worth to read the Dutch ads too,
since Northern Holland (Friesland) has a lot of boating going on,
and prices are moderate. The distance from Bogense to Friesland is about 600 km . . .

Try http://www.marktplaats.nl and search for seagull in the "watersport" section . . .

Happy Seagull hunting !
