Sydney meet - Bobbin Head - April 15th

Post by Buzzook »

G'day all

Just posting this up here to clarify in case there was any confusion. We had the date for this as the 8th in the latest issue of 'The Gull', but it turns out that's Easter Sunday, so in fact it will be on the following weekend, the 15th, with a rained out back up of the 22nd.

Meet at Apple Tree Bay boat ramp 9.30am for 10. Motor to Cottage Point, maybe a coffee at the cafe if not too crowded, then on to Akuna Bay and return for lunch in the park near the boat ramp.

Email Mark at ozseagullgroup@gmail.com if you haven't already.

Hey, all!

Just a final reminder that the Bobbin Head Run is on this weekend coming, so if you had forgotten or have not yet told me you're coming, please let me know.

They came, they saw, they floated, and all but one of the motors agreed to proceed.

According to early feedback from those who attended, a great time was had by all.

Excellent weather, great 'mother ship' in the 47' Crowther Spindrift 'Te Arawa' of member Jim Geddes. And Peter (whose 'Gull wouldn't stay running once started) shadowed the flotilla in his pristine Halvorsen 30' launch, so we made quite a sight bowling down Broken Bay - three Seagull-powered dinghies, a 30' Halvorsen and a 47' catamaran.... :)

Even the BBQ went off like clockwork, with everyone delegated to bring their one 'component' remembering it - so we didn't get two potato salads and no green salad, for example. All good.

Well, that's a wrap, as they say in the classics. Another excellent Seagull adventure.

The flotilla. Visible is Peter's 7' timber clinker 'tender' for his 30' Halvorsen, which did not run. Not visible is Marco's 14' Fairlite Gull pictured elsewhere

They came, they Seagulled, they barbecued. Jim on the BBQ, Peter and pooch, Nick, Marco and Mark. Kate has her back to the camera, the 'skipper' at the wheel is one of Nick's small fry.
