Can anyone tell me the size/thread pitch for the two jets inside the AMAL 2 Jet Carby?
I have a body that I would like to use, but the threads in the hole for one of the jets (the smaller of the two jets) is a bit chewed up, so I'd like to run a tap/thread chaser through it to clean it up.
The thread for the banjo bolt is still pretty good, so I think this is definitely worth the effort to save.
Thanks.
Polybus.

I think they are an odd size.
Could even be their own size, Charles did say something about it in the past.

Is a tap available to cut that thread?

Re: AMAL 2 Jet Carb- Threads
H-A that was the jets for the 400 series Amal which were M7.
The only 46N threads I played with was for stainless inserts for the Banjo bolt thread, sorry.
It's a very short thread in poor material, you might do more harm than good with the correct tap, or you could just glue it in place with a spot of Araldite.

Re: AMAL 2 Jet Carb- Threads
What’s the thread size?
Re: AMAL 2 Jet Carb- Threads
It is 28 TPI 55° 5.09mm over the high points of the threads.(on the one I looked at) I will have a look in my book and see if I can work it out better
It could be 7/32-28 BSF another way to check would be to see if a 4.60mm or #15 drill goes in the hole. I don't have one to check.

13/64" x 28 tpi that is a weird one, forget looking for a tap.
