Good opportunity to bed the brushes to same shape as the armature. A bit of emery paper reversed on the armature. Less spark more startup torque under load. Bearings good? Paper insulation... been a while since I've seen that.

Hugz wrote:That is coming up well. Controller works on ohms law. Electrical current is proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance. So not enough current passing through globe to make a difference to voltage. Am l correct Spiro?
Sounds good lol.

Second last sentence has me scratching my head a little, but I think I know what you mean. Its a simple voltage divide network with one variable element (the controller). So if the impedance of the controller is much much lower than the impedance of the globe, adjustment of the controller may have little effect on how brightly the globe shines.

PS: Tam is getting great advice from both yourself and Nudge here. It's nice to see the forums back in good shape.

Looking good! Rubber grommet where cable comes out if using a lot.

how does this flywheel come away...
Looks like you will need to make a puller (flat plate with holes that match the ones in the flywheel) find some bolts that fit in the holes in the flywheel.
Put the nut on the crank so it is just undone a bit. put the plate with the holes in over the top, then wind the bolts evenly and it should pop off. If it feel like it is getting too tight you may need to give it a tap to help it.

If you bend or break anything it is not my fault user discretion advised!

Nice one china i think this has its own puller attached tried what you suggested with these parts it started to bend round plate so think I'll have to get heavier gauge plate and bolts to suit cheers...

Dem bolts look a bit sick
where they like that or did you do it to them while trying to remove the flywheel?
Put some WD40 down the taper for a day or two then have another look.

After making up a wee puller I thought I'd give it a go not a shread of movement so back to the drawing board Here's my thoughts please check pic 7 could this flywheel be threaded.

I think it may be a JAP model "O" type 2 34cc two-stroke engine (the type 2 or 28 are the same apart from where the spark plug is)

This may / may not help https://sellfy.com/p/AbD5/
