Electronic ign flywheel nut

Post by Arbian »

I have removed these before using a bodged up pulley holding tool made out of a garden hoe but .....How are you actually meant to slacken / tighten the flywheel nut on an electronic given you can't hold the flywheel from turning as it has a cover and you can't take the cover off without removing the starter pulley .... which means removing the nut .....?

Put it in gear & put your foot on the prop!
Starter rope might hold it.

I usually Loctite the starter cup spacer both ends, but not the threads or shaft.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
