Kingfisher exhaust inner

Can anyone give me dimensions for and preferably pics of a kingfisher inner exhaust? I am trying to build one from bits and don't have an exhaust and John is out of re made ones. Cheers Arbian

I can take some pics and measure one up a little later today. Do you have a long or short shaft? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong - but I think they may have had different lengths for inner exhaust?

Flange base is 1/4" thick, 1 "high inner tube to receive the 1 1/4" diameter inner exhaust tube... Let me know if you need more?

Many thanks for that NaughtyBits. Of the four holes in the flange I am guessing two are plain for the attachment studs from block to go through, one is threaded for the waterpipe brass attachment but what is the other one for? I see the exhaust opening in the flange is a slot, presumably beyond that it is just plain tube (and all mild steel)?? Cheers for the help much appreciated. Arbian

Yes - the two (horizontal in pic) are for the studs - although I'd replace the studs with allen head/socket head bolts.

The 4th, smaller threaded hole (at bottom in pic) is for a nut drilled to direct water to the inner exhaust for cooling.

I've temporarily misplaced the one that came off, but I'll see if I can find it. Alternatively, you can re-tapped & fit a new compression fitting with a 1/4" copper pipe directed accordingly to do the same job.

Inner exhaust were aluminium, that I've seen (except for 1 on a 170, were the tube appears to be stainless on a steel flange)

Thanks, I couldn't figure what that hole was for. The image on the main site of the re made ones had a hole in the tube part way down, does the original have this? If so how far down and what diameter. Cheers Arbian

The top hole is 1/4", 3 3/8" from the base of the flange. The second hole is 3/8", 5 3/4" from the base of the flange.

I have no idea if this is consistent with others or has been played with, though.

Grand, Looks same as the re made ones. Can you tell me which flange hole these line up with? Thanks

They line up with the large water delivery tube.

That's great, thanks very much for your help. I should be able to have a crack at making one now. I guess if I could use stainless it might last better, I hear they had a tendency to corrode badly. Thanks again Arbian.

Only mystery now is that water spray nut thing. Will look up the spares book, might still be able to buy one. Arbian

The return water feed is basically a 4mm diameter jet of water directed over the inner exhaust tube.
