Amal 420 carb question

Post by Arbian »

Can a 420 carb off a 170 be used on a Kingfisher/Osprey (I know they are not coded the same)?

Should be Ok, both are pumped needles, Kingfisher one I have on my desk is an an amal 420 A3, main jet 140.

See what size the 170 jet is.

Have just made a sexy trumpet for one of my 420 carbs.

I thought the kingfisher was a 420 A4 ..... I have just realised the carb I have is off a 125 not a 170 and I thought they were a 420 A2 but mine is also a 420 A3 so I guess that's fine ... next question ... I guess then I can fit a fuel pump to an Osprey with this carb? (trying to make a bitsa out of parts I have accumulated)

The 140 jet was used only on the 125 & 170s.

UK Kingfishers used a 115.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
