Carburettor Cover - Anzani Unitwin

Post by AusAnzani »

Hi Guys,

I am in need of a Carburettor Cover for an Anzani Unitwin. If anyone here can assist with that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & regards,

You can borrow one if you still have your casting contact......

Good suggestion B, however he will only do a quantity run, minimum 10 pieces. As the carby cover comprises 3 parts, I would need to have a total of 30 parts made - way too expensive.

Pulled the Unitwin (15hp suggested by 3-blade prop, TBC when bore is measured) from the shed yesterday to photograph for Steve Green. That also gave me the opportunity to have a good look, which I haven't done since purchase.

Parts needed are:

Carby cover - full assembly
Spark plug cover panel
Tiller arm / assembly

All else is there but will need a thorough tidy up.

Regards
S

G'day Nudge,

Unfortunately I don't. No detailed photos available via google either from what I can see, but will keep searching.

S,

When you say carburettor covers, are you looking for the actual hinged shrouds that open to access the carburettor or the 'cover' that goes over the front of the carbie?

Hi Boyd,

I am referring to the 2 hinged sections plus the centre-piece to which there is normally a Model ID plate affixed.

The other as seen in the first pic here http://picclick.co.uk/Bsa-bantam-D3-ama ... 99312.html is normally referred to as a BSA Bantam style filter (or baffle) and choke assembly.

Hope that helps to clarify.

I always thought that the Plug Cover was the one always missing.

You're correct B. It's one of those parts that's removed for servicing and often not refitted.

This one is missing the spark plug cover and mounting bracket, so its been left off deliberately.

Bloke I bought it off said it was raced by its previous owner albeit not a race motor.

Makes me wonder if the morivation to remove parts removed now missing, was to reduce weight.

Thanks for posting the pic also.

S,

Might be a worthwhile idea to have a chat with Howard if you haven't already. He has two Unitwins, one with the full carburettor cover assembly and one with half; maybe if you wanted to go down the path of casting a set he could lend you his original ones?

Just a thought

Cheers
