If a kind local soul doesn't step forward with an original fuel line to let you rob a connector then I'd suggest a trip to your local stockist of compressed air and hose fittings with your carb in hand. I am very sure it is a BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread and they are very common in North America. (Unlike BSF and BSW) The petrol tap outlet end of a Seagull fuel pipe is a 1/4 BSP fitting. The AMAL 46N connector is bigger - so maybe 5/16 BSP?
