Seagull Heaven

Not the best quality photo, but the collection looks amazing and the room is called "Seagull Heaven" to top it off! This is from the July 2017 AOMCI magazine.

The burning question here is: once you have reached Seagull Heaven, what do you do next?

My "Seagull Heaven" now numbers 32 motors, 17 of which run and can be used if needed. The rest are in various stages of gathering parts for.

I only "Preserve" my motors, which is to strip, clean and reassemble with new gaskets and oil.
Full restoration may come in later years but preservation at least stops corrosion and rust particularly in the gear cases.

Start collecting Birmingham Small Arms bantam motorbikes...... Amal carb, wipac ignition..... 2 wheels instead of propellor... 125cc, but piston is smaller than seagull (longer stroke).

Hugz one Bantam is enough mate, get the feeling you haven't done a lot of miles on a Bantam in modern traffic. I love my BSA's owned them since 1972 look for one of their bigger cousins starting from the 4 speed 250, cost about the same to rebuild.

Too late! Parts and info are easy to get though. Might work my way up to an M20. Thought l might deliver pizza on it ha ha.

So I’m not the only one... next project, small and cute, a French 1930’s Monet Goyon. At least it’s got a villiers motor....

New project arrived today. AV88 Motobecane Mobylette, 1967 based on the serial.

Runs/drives well (as well as a 50 year old stock moped can run). Complete and I believe original (ex tires). Will rebuild stock 49cc engine and also building a spare 74cc that I can pop on if a bit more speed is needed

Variated engine and decompressor are two fun/handy features I have not seen before.

Now I just need to figure out what I will use it for!

Fun project they are easy to work on, looks like Seagull owners have similar taste love the Triumph, bath tubs are rare here.

Here is a photo of my old girl she was born in 1948 an BSA M21 fitted with a Tilbrook sidecar we have been mates for 44 years looked a lot smarter 40 years ago, the other is the bones of a 1952 M20 I picked up last year.

It’s a 500, made in the last week of production in 1966. Ex Lincolnshire police. It took me ages to get all the correct parts.
