Recoil starter parts

Post by african imp »

I see another thread on the Seagull recoil starter.

I have a collection of related parts and wonder which fits what?

There is no reciever to take the recoil arms.

Which model of Seagull used the recoil units?

ever seen the part with multiple holes in it, not Seagull.

The recoil with 4 little feet is one to bolt to the top of the after market, 'Siba' make rod cage.

Two bottom castings are for the Seagull version of the Siba recoil, they bolt to the crankcase top part to hold the ignition base on a Wipac MkII, you can see them in that page from the spares book that has been posted.

The dome on the right is the part that fits on top, but you are missing the cup to take the recoil mechanisms teeth.

Rind top left is the adapter plate between a Cdi ignition dome and the bare recoil, they were riveted together then the ring had 2 screw holes, oddly at 90 degrees to one another, to fix to the smaller dome on a Cdi motor.

Quite a mix there!

John

John, Thanks, I was curious to know what I had and what may be missing?
