Painting flywheels, magnetic issue?

I asked re can painting a Segulls flywheel affect the magnetic effect withing the flywheel?

There was no reply that I saw?

My own test prooved that the flywheel will work painted or not?

I took a Wipac one and blasted the paints of, I then used a two pack etch primer on it and finished with a gold top coat, more a new gold than an old gold but that was the paint that I had.

Fitted to a Forty Plus series motor it ran very well.

A few steel washers demonstrate that the magnets will still work through the paints.

The possible reason for no reply's might be because that flywheel was always painted from new!

Lets knock this one down straight away.

There is no way any paint could ever effect magnetism. This is a myth.

Had a frustrated would be contributor contact me as he could not manage to register on the Forum. He wanted to add a scientific comment... I can see his frustration.

As he says you could even wrap the flywheel in steel, it would not be able to detrementally effect the ignition.

As he says, if you find a way to block magnetism you would be a very rich man!

I can imagine Seagull flying saucers hovering on the earths magnetic fields with your special Hammerite paint! I can see a new thread developing!

Found myself intoxicated Sunday morning only to discover that I'd forgotten to open a window in one's shed for ventilation now I'd like to say i did see flying saucers ((must add non seagull) it was about 3 seconds after I'd TRIPPED through the conservatory doors spilling the remaining contents of hammerite paint over the leather suite. Or was that FLYING SAUCEPAN. can't remember still recovering....
