A difficult British Seagull restoration

Post by african imp »

A chap in Pretoria had an old Seagull and asked could I restore it for him?

I replied as a yes and he sent the motor down by courier, I spent a year in the restoration, part of which was waiting on the required spare parts from SOS as the SAPO service is one of the worst on delivery in recent years.

The tank was the largest problem as someone had fitted a cars radiator cap, well the opening for one had been cut, it was a real mess so I asked John to send another tank, it arrived with the drain on the wrong side but I sorted that out by silver soldering another exit in.

The end result was good and the owner was pleased to pay for the parts and labour.
