Not too sure what to tell you fellows,

Abandoned and left for dead in the Fraser River. Little bit of elbow grease was used to clean things up and a bit of silicone gasket maker.
I just realized, I was going to put silicone gasket maker on the head gasket and I haven't done that yet....

What can we say! Well Done.
Other than Get a better starter cord!
The starter cord should be 5.5mm and 650mm long.

Re: Found it in the River...
There are plenty of repairs and upgrades to be done before this can be run on a lake....
Cleaned the yellow goo out of the gearbox. That crap was stubborn!
Everything looked healthy inside once done.
EP140 oil I believe I need to replace it with. Fill to the bottom of the fill hole?

"Add enough oil to cover large crown gear in gear assembly"
That's not very much oil....
Is there a quantity/capacity?

Re: Found it in the River...
That's a new one for me Nudge, I haven't seen that before, what's the edition number?
Quarts & gallons, must be sometime in the 60's.
The "Do not overfill" would imply that Seagull had discovered some negatives with filling to the brim, as the service handbook suggested during the 50's & early 60's.

Re: Found it in the River...
If I knew where the addition number was I would tell you!
British
Seagull
Service. Repair Handbook
2 to 6hp Models
I can only guess 1979?
