Silver century block

Post by Nudge »

I've been looking at my Silver century block, It has me wondering how many different casting patterns where / are around for them.
I'm asking because I have noticed a number on the casting by the inlet stub.

So far I have found up to the number 4 (I have a #2, #3 and #4)

Can you have a look at you blocks so we can see how many there are?

As a side note can anyone tell me what is the best # block to use. Port timing and the like?

Jacob
These pattern numbers are only on Silver Century blocks.

So anything 66 or later starting S, WS, WSC, ESC, SP, SPC, WSPC, ESPC, ENFR, all of those fitted with 46N or 416 carbs.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I have 2 blocks with 4's, a block with a 1 then a blank block.

Thanks Jacob,
That makes at least 5 patterns, I was told that there may have been 6 (how much truth is another thing)
So far I have found my engine with #4 on the block works the best. Maybee I need to work out the port timing.
