So that is a suppressed lead then?
In my experience RFI ignition problems usually stem from a faulty or incorrectly applied condensor (Kettering) or just plain old loose fittings that snap snap an AM radio.
I have never had any problem with a properly sorted magneto ignition myself.
Alternator or generator DC can be somewhat of a drama to your neighbors when test running in the SULO but in my opine, another problem.

As far as pictures of leads, I keep seeing suppressed HT leads all over the place, more so on mid to late 70's motors and by the amount seen, I wouldn't have thought that they all were replacements.
So I think with the seagull ad showing a picture of a seagull and not an artists drawing, being fitted with the suppressed lead, I think the point has been pretty much proven.
I know we have seen pictures of motors that have never gone into production as they looked in the picture, but we are talking about a late advertisement, not an early concept picture of a seagull.
