makrerel fishing

Post by Alfabud »

I recently went fishing for makerel as not been in a few yrs..to say it was poor fishing is an understatement...everybody I talked to were either catching nothing, or catching very small ones...whats happened to the makerel....one thing I noticed in supermarkets is they r selling makerel I would throw back..if they r selling very small makerel, they r not getting a chance to breed before they r caught..i certainly would not buy makerel if it was very small.. :x :x

Same problem up my way as well, (North East Coast) where there seem to be a LOT of fisherfolk on the rocks, piers, and out in boats. For nothing! Have to agree with the stupidity of Supermarkets selling tiny Mackerel as well. I've thrown bigger ones back, over the years...
