That looks like it's pushed the top bearing upwards. I reckon there should be a gap of around 2-3mm at the very top where the baseplate would fit over.
Have you checked to make sure you havn't burred an edge somewhere on the crank. Is the woodruff key removed as well (gotta ask china) Easily done in a hurry. Was it tight to seperate in the beginning. Is the crank straight?

Something aint right!

I'm thinking bush it may have moved when separating . crank ok it all came apart ok with the usual skelp with the hammer nothing changed keith but must admit you had me thinking I'd picked up wrong crank....

Turn the crank upside down, it my be just a problem with one bush.

Tried that one keith seems to be just the top bush will give it a go on the press. .....a couple of mm

Drive shaft tube removed must say it was one of the easiest jobs yet looks like a rechromeing job only concern is will pitting still show through. ...

It might well be cheaper to have a new tube made, than to have the old one stripped, polished & plated, it's less than 1/2 an hour lathe time, if they have the correct gauge tube in stock.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Was thinking spinning on the lathe and removing a baw hair then rechromeing? ??

Definitely different, I prefer the mower style add-on.
You have definitely polished the sss-shine on that carb
Multi functional, as it can be used in both directions, up as well as down. :P

£16 I've paid less for a complete motor and that was a marston bakalit sleeve needed like hens teeth i suppose. ... :wink:

That's cheap for a Champion cap, I have seen them go for forty quid each on the bike section, I have only got two of them, not that I can find them now.
Was that the same one I spotted last week?
I got a screw on pump housing and shaft today for a tenner. :P
