Looks like that could be a plan the stub fell away as soon as heat was applied (been repaired before) back to the drawing board drilled pinned then soldered

That looks a lot better! just a shame your you don't have a piece of brass to replace the pin. Is there anybody close that may have a piece of brass rod the correct diameter.

Drilled a hole through existing internal rod threaded to suit small screw that came from top end of 40+exhust soldered that to an old piece of 40+ water pipe then filled cooper pipe with solder and just screwed it on with some lock tight prim and paint. The jobs a good yin...aye learning.

Very nice job you're doing there Tam! Looking beautiful. I've got my FV15425 to do at some point, so great reading. Liked your use of the bench grinder.. may give that a go! What did you use for tight corners on the crankcase? Brass wire end brush?
