I read about one for £50,000 on ebay, they looked into the bidders of the fiver and they were all unused account holders or had very little use. So basically, it was all fake so they could pump up the price of these plastic fiver's.
I know one thing, I don't like them and I know Charles UK doesn't like it, or was that parting with them.

I still have a couple of old pound notes and the one before that, but I don't know about the pre-decimal stuff, I'm not old enough.

Well, the whole idea of introducing these, was that they would last longer, but that hasn't been my experience. A Pint and a couple of packets of Crisps, and it's gone!

Last pint I purchased here in Perth WA was the usual dark bitter, just like your proper stuff.

AU15.00 which at this second is GBP9.15 in your new polymer money.........yes the fiver is not the first note.

I believe your new note is printed in Australia coz we invented the tech. Other countries have already joined in.

Nice one Tam, it boggles the mind, what some people will pay for, make the most of it while you can and don't try it with Scottish fivers. :P
I have no interest in collecting the new fiver, as I don't collect notes, just coins.
But I do have one or two notes about.

There are a couple of lessons in this story.

1. The English £ is worth about 3 times what it costs in Scotland when sent back home!

2. Most of the contents of Keith's wallet have passed their best before date!
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
