The photo is of LS 24747 gearbox as received seized and packed with grease the water pump was also packed.

What are the teeth like on the gears? I found one the same... it was in a very sad state RIP :cry:

Two other related no/nos from the same engine,

The first is the water pump also packed with grease and the second in the crankcase boss after an attempt to remove the plate without removing the locating screw. fortunately their effort was stopped just short of totalling the crankcase and it could be resurrected.

This engine after service and rebuild has done several longish runs of in access of 4 hours, producing plenty of power and full reliability. and yes the gear teeth are in good nick. My guess is that it was never run in this condition. The piston was also seized .
