Hi Pat and Keith, I seem to have lost the plot on how to post the You tube clip so as to get it to open within the forum. Will try again with another one.
Cheers,

Hello, all. I've been away from the board for a while and have a lot of reading to do! Lots of cool vids here as well.

For those interested, here are some snapshots of this cooling water mod, in S/S.

Those other, rather un-holey abominations are from failed, earlier attempts at a different design. The resale and historic value may have diminished, though at least it runs nicely.

Spring is back, here on Delmarva; almost time to go and wake up the grey heron and the osprey!

Thanks atoyot for posting the close up pictures, good to be able to see exactly what you've done. I wouldn't worry too much about the historic value of your seagull, there are plenty of other seagull owners who are very particular about restoring outboards to their original condition and are looking after British Seagulls heritage for the rest of us. I for one like to see a bit of innovation, especially when it improves the running and performance of the outboard. After all your outboard is not sitting on rack, it is still in regular use and it's more important that it runs right and works for your requirements.

However if you ever happen to become the owner of Marston Seagull, I wouldn't recommend carrying out the same cooling modification, I don't think that would go down too well on this forum!

Cheers Pat

Here is a clip of a Norwegian boat with a Seagull, with an unusual side mounting, using the boats tiller for steering.

Here's a short clip of H-A and myself going around Hayling Island a few years ago.

As you can see the youtube feature does not seem to work. Any ideas?

Some YOUTUBE clips have "https" infront of them instead of "http", the forum youtube button does not accept these and will not embed the clip in to the post and will just display the youtube brackets with the link address. So just delete the "s" off the "http" and it should work.

https = Not good :evil:

http = Good 8)
