Salt Water Classic - South Australia 21-22 April

Post by Buzzook »

This annual wooden boat festival on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula normally has a welter of beautiful small boats - and occasionally a Seagull or two comes out with the woodwork....

Pics sent in by Oz Seagull Group (SA) members John and Jenny, who attended the Australian Gathering at Myall Lakes in January.

Some pretty boats and a definite possible future Seagull group 'tag along' event. Why bother organising your own, with all the attendant hassles, if you can simply tag-along on someone else's coat tails? It works for me!! :) :)

I was there on saturday with the Sea Rescue boat at the Pt Vincent part. We were part of the flotilla of boats that cruised from the Marina to the wharfe, then halfway out to the spit beacon & then back. The weather was flat calm untill about 1200hrs, then it started to rain & blow quite fresh from the North. This put a complete damper on the show, un fortunately forgot camera. Wasnt there for the sunday part in Stansbury where the pictures were taken.

Photo's were taken on Sunday at Stansbury, not many Seagulls this year we
were planing to take Bitzan over but having to insure her put us off. It's a
top event Saturday is based at Port Vincent boats are on display in the marina
and there is a full on water program. Sunday the event moves south 10 or
15 kms to Stansbury after a run in the morning the trailered boats line up for
a static display with all the classic vehicles ,engines etc.
