Sharland Four Stroke

According to a 1934 'Motor Boat' magazine, the 347cc Sharland was available in 15, 17 or 21hp, but the big question is - how can you tell them apart? I'm guessing the compression ratio could be different and/or different carburettors and maybe different gearbox ratios. Does anybody have any literature or are there any Sharland owners who could clarify this.

That is some toy Ferrier!

If that prop goes walkabout, I've probably got it.

That's a lot of motor, your a fortunate boy!

I hope your good fortune continues & you find other owners.

Wasn't there one in the Salcombe bunker?

Thanks for that Charles.

Whilst there were a couple of race motors at Bolt Head, Salcombe, there wasn't one of these. This one had apparently been on display for a short period at the Motor Boat Museum, Basildon.

Maybe I saw that one & assumed it ended up in the bunker.

I surveyed all their Marstons a couple of years before they closed & must have seen it there.
