Cylinder block wanted for Coventry apex 50

Post by kevincoxshall »

Hi all
This is my first post here. I have just purchased a Coventry apex 50 from the great Dorset steam fair. £18. It was siezed and now it turns out I need a new cylinder block. Would anyone have one spare or lying around and willing to send to jersey?
Thanks for looking

Hi Kevin - I have a Coventry Apex 50, where the piston is seized in the cylinder, which I believe is otherwise OK. I haven't seen it for a few years (only buried in my garage somewhere), but I'll dig it out and see if I can liberate the cylinder.

Worth saving the engine if possible - only a basic engine, but I like their simplicity, and they don't come up for sale too often (maybe they didn't make many!)
Might be a couple of weeks before I get back to you, but I'll let you know one way or another --
