JAP

Here's an interesting JAP powered Cruisemate the anglers friend.
I am not sure if it was made in Australia or imported.

You have some really odd stuff!

This is not made in Australia, none of it. No foundry did any castings like that.

By the flag on the tank, it was probably distributed by a crowd that sold C-Powa.......Beverly Hills NSW early 60s.

The flag was the emblem that they used for all sorts of things, like a trademark but not.

Interesting beast but as I said, no Australian manufacture in any of it.

Would be made from UK "Bits" maybe. The fact that the cowl is stamped with J.A.P. would lead you to inquire along the lines of

http://www.seabeeoutboard.co.uk/

Which is a dead link but the guy who had it would know what you have.

You have some really odd stuff....................and interesting :D

Thanks again for the info "B" I will follow it up.This Jap also has the gear box guts missing. I thought I would come across another one by now because I
have had it for about 4 years, but no luck so far.

Funny you should mention C-Pow. I was at a T & T last year and a guy had one in excellent condition, but he wanted a decent chuck of gold for it, and because at that stage I had not heard of them I let it go (no smileys with tears)
I also did not have The Old Outboard Book then either.
But thats how it goes.

I could post a piccy of my Viking but I think you guys have seen theese outboards.

With all this info at you finger tips B do you have anything on Trojan outboards?

I went bush for a week after my last post about the Trojan outboard B

I only have the motor which has the shaft coupling and the exhaust casting with the tube attached,
but I still scrounge the T&T's in the hope I will eventually spot one that has the parts I need.

After I bought the Viking, a week later I was gobsmaked that a guy had the motor for one, which
I found a new home for of course.
