Post by NaughtyBits » Tue Jul 11, 2017 7:15 pm

"Get your Seagull 40’s out… (Adults & larger motor classes/boats welcome for a fun run)
2017 Annual Bermuda ‘Round the Sound’ Seagull 40 Race
Sandys Boat Club
12pm start, Sunday July 16th 2017

This is a kids & family race intended to get those too young for RISR interested and involved in British Seagulls and basic boat building. We’re looking to keep things simple and fun, so, please throw your British Seagull 40 on anything you’ve got and come out and support it this Sunday.

A class (Family) - at least 1 adult and 1 child under the age of 16 in the boat (No child under 12 may operate the engine): any boat under 16'

B class (Child) – at least 2 children under the age of 16 (1 must be aged 12 or older to operate the engine): any boat under 16'

C class (Racing) – at least 2 children under the age of 16 (1 must be aged 12 or older to operate the engine): stitch & glue wooden boat built from 2 (or less) sheets of plywood (deck & transom not included).

Basic Rules:

Only British Seagull 40 series engines are to be used (40 plus, 40 minus, Featherweight)

Seagull 40’s for class A & B, please, no modification, no porting, all Seagull 40 parts above & below waterline. This is a kids & family race intended to get those too young for RISR interested and involved.

Seagull 40’s for Class C, porting allowed, all Seagull 40 parts above & below waterline.

Boat Classes & Engine specs will be subject to ‘tuning’ as the race continues year to year – but we want to keep it simple & fun for kids. Suggestions welcome (help with crash-boating, too).

Course to be decided on Sunday. Sorry for the late notice!"

Looks like it was a nice day out on the water... a LOT better weather than what we are having at the moment!
