Blimey you're nearly a local already.
I have'nt looked at tommorows forecast yet.
Been out testing today? God I hate Seagulls . . .
Hoiked the bloody engine down to Dennis' battered tiny little sinking glass fibre thing to test the motor yesterday. It poured petrol and wouldn't start.

Started it today in the test tank- it ran like a maniac after starting with the big angle polisher - Captain Slow will again be in the seat, I haven't had time till next year to build something interesting for me to enter.
About time you bought me a pint. Is the Arvour ok? it's had it's ups and downs . . .

Yes I know the ubiquitous Doom is alright. But it doesnt have the flavour of the Arvour. Whose on tonight? If Kerry is behind the bar she gives me a hard time if I complain the Arvour is sour.
Solid sunshine is the Monday Fowey forecast.
Any spares / tools you need brought?

Chuki will be there and there's a Seagull spares chap will in the carpark with boot sale . . .

is Paul there? Wears glasses, stays at pub. Can be seen with laptap. Is a recovering accountant. Also captained Greek yachts, is in between relationships, a thespian, interesting.

At least one vessel capsized on the first lap when they took the turn a bit tight in the chop..

Some brilliant marine engineering on display, as well as the Seagulls of course. This one was powered by a 170 which did well.
We had a stately cruise around in the Longliner, the Silver Century Plus certainly did not disgrace itself as regards speed and we were probably the most comfy crew on the water with the benefit of the cuddy for the first lap when the wind was still blowing quite hard. A great day on the water - very well done the River Lerryn Yacht Squadron.

Something quite disturbing watching Superman rushing to the aid of someone in desperate need, using only a Seagull for propulsion, I suppose he's guaranteed to get there eventually but not exactly speedy or silently.

It looks like you Guys had great fun :D

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2013 - Casualty Report

Post by Robin Anderson »

Casualty report.
When calamity struck and the vessel capsized, fortunately the River Lerryn Yacht Squadron safety boat was in the right place and the crack team effected a skilful rescue in seconds. The casualty was rushed to shore and admitted into intensive care. Immediate life support (a squirt of WD40) has of course to be administered within the "golden hour" for best prospects of a full recovery. I wish the casualty a speedy recuperation and hopefully it will live to race once again on the rolling main of the River Lerryn, just not roll quite so much next time.

The waters of the Lerryn are of course certified Kyptronite -free so no doubt the superheroes enjoyed their dip enormously and quickly changed back into their ordinary dry clothes in the nearest telephone kiosk.
