Lerryn Seagull Race 2012

Post by Buzzook »

Have just been advised by the RLYS Commodore, David Vipond, that this year's Lerryn race will be held earlier than usual, on the 9th December, due to it being the only weekend with suitable tides.

So if you're planning to attend, better get your skates on..!!

More to follow once I have further info....

Being the 25th Anniversary event, the theme for this year is 'Silver'.

Thanks for the reminder.

I was going on the 8th to race as per their website http://lerryn.net/calendar?date=20121201

Will go down for the weekend so not a problem, If I win three years in a row do I get to keep the trophy?

Silver is a good theme, only 4 week to get it sorted, must get down the shed.

Well, since the Essex meet got cancelled by weather, how about a few more of you Pommie buggers extracting a digit?

Do we want H-A to earn himself a 'Perpetual Trophy'....?????? :D

How's the leg, Charles??? :)

Was about to publish the poster just sent, but you have beaten me to it, well done!

Hope there is no fog this year, apart from the normal blue one!

I have posted it on the Events and racing page of the main site as well.

Well it was a great day, fantastic weather for the time of year.

Not much water, start delayed by twenty minutes, got away fast, but overtaken at the bottom mark by RBT's fast boat with a 170 on the back.

Raced hard finished second, but first I in class. So we won the big trophy as winner in the most popular class.

There were about 30 boats and a good turnout of spectators.

I must try and beat Andy's big boat next year, might need to use a 170 or a Kingfisher. :D

Also need a quick boat, might try Bermudan long boat style.

It looked like your boat was going well Philpy.

There are some good pictures of the event here

At least the pictures prove my boat was plowing a furrow and not planing. :D
