They've agreed to let me put the event in The Gull, and David Vipond is going to arrange for some photos for us.

He says the 'Strictly' them is open to as wide an interpretation as you like: "Strictly Ballroom" to bondage gear, Police, Schoolmaster, or whatever, they are looking for 'creativity'.....

So I'm thinking.....add a couple of 'wing-shaped' fins aft, wear a black cape and a face mask, and take young Bobby dressed as...a 'bobby'....

And call yourselves 'Team Strictly Legal'..........

[I am so 'dead' for that...it's that Charles' fault...he made me do it!!]

I shall be there Allan . . .

Captain Slow will be motivating my skiff (if he discovers this time to cancel the choke). I shall just be watching and taking evil pics of you.

Couldn't put together an interesting boat this year - they've been replacing my body parts with stainless - rather f**ked the year up . . .

ps. don't forget they are phobic about boats which might be planing!

I will see you there RBT.

I have not yet managed to get a boat to plane with a seagull.

As long as I beat Captain slow by a couple of seconds that will do

You still have not bought me a beer yet.

The classes have been modified this year, any vessel less than 1150mm in width has to be in the Canoe class!

:? How can a speed restriction of six knots make it a race. Does this mean if you are quicker then 6 knots you will be disqualified? :?: :?

Andy, I spent the day on Friday starting the engines as they hadnt been started since last year!
And my boy is 2 and half, but I think he will stay on the onshore support team

And "The Tinker"
The speed limit on the river is 6 knots, and the Harbour master gives us permission to host the race, He is also present on race day, so we would rather not upset him and run the risk of having him against future events. I would imagine the organisers wont be 100% strick on this if a boat was going slightly over this, but if someone was going lots faster I guess they would have to be seen to take action...
