Waitara Race 12th November NZ
Just a reminder that our annual event on the Waitara River is all go for Saturday 12th November, only 5 weeks away.
Hopefully the weather will be a bit more settled by then. We will have a free sausage sizzle, tea and coffee for all competitors at midday as usual.
Accommodation is getting hard to find in town. OK if you have a tent or camper or can sleep in your vehicle.
Give us a ring if you need to know more.
Thanks and hope to see you here.

Great photos Rex. It was a fantastic day. Maybe the so called meca of SEAGULLs could get as many people to attend there events.

Maybe their 'Fun Police' are hell-bent on making sure people don't enjoy themselves. LOL.

You are not far wrong there, in the UK we have a serious problem with Health and Safety, and if you call it a race you need multi-million pound insurance cover. Risk assecesments and mediclal support are also required.Rex NZ wrote: Maybe their 'Fun Police' are hell-bent on making sure people don't enjoy themselves.
If you go too fast, they get upset.
Perhaps we should all move to NZ.

It could be just me but the words "seagull" and "sprint" don't seem to go together . A bit like "Army Intelligence"

Re: Waitara Race 12th November NZ
Skytoyman if a seagull is tuned right and the propellor is tuned right it is possible to get a reasonable turn of speed from a boat as the photos show. The rubber duck is doing 12knots from a 2.5 seagull. The surf board boat is doing 10 knots. So anything is possible

Love the surf board . Do the engine and the surfer have to get on at the same time

No, it seems to be a very stable craft, very good when it turns
