Re: 29th December 2010 (am)
richplym - it's after midnight on the 29th December as I type, so for me, you might have left it a bit late for your appeal. Still, I admire your Mr Micawber instinct - are you still a student, what subject were /are you imbibing in?
You have omitted the location of your lair. RichPlym, hmm, Richard in Plymouth?
Well I shall be there in a few hours to say a few prayers for Chukys carburettor. I could have brought your required bolts and gasket but then would you have been the perplexed gent with the beard, red rose in lapel and nearly entire Seagull - or somone completely different?
You students, you're such a worry to me . . .

Never mind the disappointing lack of spunk in current day students.....if we are to ever edificate the Colonials at least use a speel chucker first if in any doubt! Indeed, if Mr Charles (Not Chucky) is to be believed Ponting cannot be the progeny of Micawber despite any protestation of "experientia docet" along with an optimistic " something will turn up".......... although Wilkins would have most certainly fined him 100% when sitting as magistrate!

Sadly my friend it looks like you might be in a predicament. I think one of the posts was trying to say John won't be their, even though the words were jumbled. Rosbull' would certainly have helped had he been contacted earlier. As for the last post, I don't know what it's meant to say, sounds like Peter's had a few whiskies before writing that.
Good luck for today anyway.

Hint..............a visit to the Dickens section in any lending library and a recent newspaper or two will help.............
I know they have them up there

No hints required, just didn't realise this was a forum for speaking Dickens. Up here, as you say, we talk to cummunicate, not to indulge in a linguistic rant, losing the point of question asked.

Well I went to Lerryn, where HA kicked my arse big time, he was flying!
First boat home & winner of the under 12 foot class.
Well done HA!
RBT won a couple of things, I'll let him explain.

Yes we had a great day !
Won three prizes in the raffle.
Won concours d'elegance, for best turned out engine.
Won first in under 12 foot class
Won the race overall, first to finish.
My wife won fastest Lady.
And I beat Charles and Andy
I am very pleased with the new boat, as Charles said it was flying.
One of the spectators told me he had never seen a rooster tail behind a Seagull
Looking forward to the next race in the season.

Will post pictures asap

The white one belongs to RBT. It is fast as it is a great shape hull, is long and has a 170 on the back.
This year it was not fast enough

Thanks H-A, I did view the Lerryn site pics but didn't know if that was you as Darth Vader.
Any pics of the winning vessel in it's prime? What a buzz for you, desingning and building something to whip certain folks' arses.
Again, well done.

Re: 29th December 2010 (am)
Well now HA has shown how easy it is to do, perhaps some of the armchair Seagull racers should come out of their closets & start sharpening their pencils.
They've got 5 or 6 months until the Hayling Island Marathon, it's only 26 & a bit miles, but it would be nice to get around in a faster time than the fellow wearing a hard hat diving suit!
It will take a good century/102 & boat combination to do it in less than 4 hours.

Re: 29th December 2010 (am)
Indeed Charles. Being one of the armchair racers myself, it would be good to get down, unfortunately the distance to drive is the killer for me. Who knows, I might use public transport, turn up empty handed and get a place as crew for someone, would be nice but we'll wait and see. Work and family are stumbling blocks when it comes to my fun. When I say family, I mean the wife, ha ha. Plenty of time to be nice to her.
Let's hear the stories of how the winner cheated and the poor unfortunates would've won if only.........!

Might be possible on the Marathon, but depends on your weight.
Crew priorities will have to apply to the Dutchmen as they will have spent the most to get there, unless they bring a boat but that will double their car ferry costs.
I saw no evidence of any cheating by HA,
I was whooped fair & square!
