We opted for 'L' foils like on the americas cup yachts. V foils catch a lot of weed and can't self clean like an L with aft rake. We also have the problem of running aground while on the foils, to ours need to be able to survive an impact and retract when a pin is sheered. So a bit more of a challenge that normal foiling, but I think we'll come up with a good solution. Then all we have to do is finish!

Let me know if you want a hand to tune up your engine. I'm reasonably good with the standard motors.

It's Seagull Vodoo.
Its not natural

Seagull boats go in the water we all know that.

Adrian congrats on a wonderful achievement, you have taken the not so humble seagull to a place nun of us will ever get to go.

You wouldn't be so complimentary if you had seen her running at Whangamata last weekend! Flat consistent water and she's fantastic. Introduce the rolling quarter-wake while overtaking a slower boat and she isn't quite do impressive. The front foil stalls instantly and she nose-dives hard at 20 knots. I nearly sank on several occasions!

Submarine racing sounds interesting.

Well good luck with the project.

Will the boat get a run at Manukau in November?

Yes, boat will get another run at Manukau, although we will use a different foil package. The front foil will go in favour of a ski for the moment while we get aft foils working properly. The aft foil build tolerances were too great and they're giving up problems with unequal stall. The stbd foil always stalls before port, which leans the boat into a crash! So just a better quality set of moulds and a bit more care taken during construction for the Rev-B package!

That is one sweet looking ride!

You don't need to change a thing, There is only one way to cock a leg as you pass the others (just like team New Zealand did!)
All you need is a computer to run the show and you will have it in the bag.

I to am hoping to go to the run at Manukau race (my first one) Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the number Adrian. If thing pan out I will give you a call later in the day
I have just pulled the jets out of the carb (amal 2 jet)to find it has a #40 power jet so I guess trying the engine on 20~25 : 1 would be a good start!
The Amal carb that was on the engine had a lot of crud and scale in it and I think it may be flaking and blocking the jets.

I have hijacked you thread enough for one day. I will give you a call. Thanks

I found with my Silver Century, the best thing with the Amal carb was to run a 30 & 40 jet with a 10:1 fuel mix. Although the best thing to do in my opinion is to get rid of the Amal altogether and put a 416 carb on.

Thanks for that I will give the jet change a try and keep my eyes open to a 416.
