Always gives me the willies looking at this sort of inflateable boat!

Solid wooden transom would be better

Now then a longshaft 40 plus with a clutch will more than likely be a bit too long for this, move it up about 6 inches and it might be alright.

As for more power aka Jeremy Clarkson, forget it...

I'd stick with a featherweight and be done with it.

This is an Avon redstart with the same supported bracket with 11+ tanks a 40+ and one person...
I admit Allegra didn't weigh much!!
This boat and engine (still have the engine and Allegra) worked day and night (night dives) in the Maldives as a runabout between dive boats and the shore for a year with out an incident, and was my yacht dingy for 14 years in Jakarta..
