Silver Century 4.5 Clutch Drive

Post by 666 »

Hey all, long time no posts as i have not used my seagulls in a while!

Just aquired my third as i am letting my first 2 go to a new home!

As the title suggests i have aquired a Silver Century 4.5 Clutch Drive and wondered if this may be a little to much for my Wayfarer? Is there any known issues with them & should i do anything important before its first use on the sea?

Cheers,

Mark

Does your motor has an ignition like the one on the picture or is it different? The identifier says that your engine comes with a MK2 ignition.
I love the 10600/145 turns!!!

The W in the engine number denotes that it is fitted with a Wipac mk2 ignition, as this model 75 was built prior to Seagull's use of the CDIs.

H-A has used a later picture so that the poster could identify his Seagull as a model 75 & not a model 80.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Thanks for the replays chaps!

So we have established what it is and it seems more than enough for my Wayfarer, are there any issues with this particular engine I should be aware of?

Cheers
