My new Seagull Race Boat

Post by Chicken »

So it starts again but this year im staring early for the waikato river race with 45 days to go, most stuff is cut out ready to start putting together with a bit more weight to be taken out yet although there isnt much in it as i am using lighweight marine ply in very thin thicknesses. This year the boat is a realistic size almost double the width and 2 foot longer bringing it to 12ft, more to come as time goes on.

Still have plenty of time built the last one in about 4 weeks, have spent alot of time going through every little thing to get the best possible hull now i just have put everthing to gether should be done 2-3 weeks before race plenty of time to test, unlike last year only hiting the water day before race.

It looks good, how heavy do you expect it to be when finished?

Looks a lot like this

Chicken

Well done

The wider hull width should make it plane really well

H-A that, would be because I have got the original plans for that boat and then made to my liking, I would hope probley around 20kgs boat only and with me being only 60kgs shoukd be good, with be running with same engine as last year silver century with late model outboard leg like a 5R

You know how much pain it causes me to say anything nice to a Kiwi, well here goes.

Your doing a very nice job on that, congratulations!

That will keep the old boys honest!
