Here are some proper Seagull race boats.
The picture with all 4 in shows the designer/builder Raoul Lealand & some of his stable of silly "X boats".
Then a picture of me running his X5 during the 2010 Waikato race before I broke down, the other picture is me after I broke down.

Re: Kiwi Seagull race boats
Here's pictures of a Kiwi long boat that has just been bought by an Australian, I don't remember seeing this hull, but the builder has put a lot of thought into this one.
Steering from the front, remote fueling & I think that transom looks adjustable in height but perhaps not whilst in motion.

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Ahoy Charles
I signed up to the seagull forum, but danged if I can figure out how to post.
Anyhow, Frantically packing for my Bermuda RISR trip. Being the only New Zealand international representative by default, I am not really taking the race too seriously. My packing focus is mostly sorting out my fishing gear ... I figure that I probably don't have a snowballs chance in winning the race, but reckon if I put enough lures in the water, I might just win the fishing competition.
I will put up a web site along the lines of Bermuda adventure (the 2011 reprise) and I expect, all going well it will be a lot like this:
http://sites.google.com/site/piratepete ... aadventure
Cheers Pete
PS. just a warning. I am so famous that bloody Russians are using my good name 'piratepetester' as a porn/virus site. So to find the web site, google search piratepetester [NOTE lower case]. No care and no responsibility for searches using a capital Piratepetester
