Good video lads, like Charles, the laughter in the background made it worthwhile.
Hope you have many good trips.

Re: Your Boat & Motor Pictures
Greetings dobro, welcome to the crazy world of Seagull's, you'll be well looked after on this site, no need to worry about your engine needs, all the guys here have seen it, done it end have the t-shirt. As for the picture debate, I'm all for pics, I only have a concern for the guys (who I forgot wh...

Re: Taking piston out
An update on my seized FP! I've now got everything un-seized and unfortunately found lots of crusty surface rust inside the cylinder, too much to remove with a kitchen scouring pad so I've now reverted to an idea from RBT, I've got hold of a tool to hone the cylinder, I've also got new rings from Jo...

Difference using a clutch
Hi Guys, I've looked the forum and can't see anything relating to the question I'm about to ask. I've just got myself a FPC, don't know if it needs any work done or what but my main how does it work, i.e. do I have to keep it on low revs to engage it in gear or what? My hope is to run it on an infla...

Re: Your Boat & Motor Pictures
Totally understandable, personally I'm fortunate to be in an area for broadband but I can understand how this could ruin the pleasure of the forum for guys where they have to sit for ages waiting on downloads, I've been their. I agree that until broadband is available to all, posting pics on photobu...

Should the block have studs rather than bolts?

Re: Your Boat & Motor Pictures
Very nice Todd, your gulls look well. Do you attach the 1/4" pipe to the exhaust to secure it? Does this really help the water flow at idle speed?

Re: cleaning a piston
I had a similar thought as I was reading that bit. Maybe it would be wiser to pass on that idea. I am no different to all you guys, it appears we all face the same dilemna wherever we are in the world, "just can't find a woman who understands Seagulls"! And I don't mean the ones that targe...

Re: cleaning a piston
Thanks guys, didn't realise I was still on track. I really thought the rings were gone and the whole thing needed honed. I already have the piston soaking in diesel for the past week, so I'll now use my time to give the cylinder a clean with a kitchen pad. Your help is much appreciated. As for patie...

cleaning a piston
Hi folks, just searched the forum but can't find any help on this one. My piston, having now been un-seized needs a good clean, mainly in the area of the rings. The rings are flush with the piston so I guess they're worn and probably stuck with rust. How will I tackle the cleaning without damaging t...

Paper Gasket
Can anyone tell me if the gasket for the crankcase is just card? Can I make one from card? I read somewhere on the site where people scanned these then printed them, is this the case?
Thanks
Gerard
Thanks

Re: stripped down FP pics
Cheers Mates. Indeed my thoughts got carried away last night but I soon came down to earth this morning when I checked my replies. I sure will encounter more problems before I hear the beautiful tones of my engine. I will continue to pick your brains guys, as I go along. I did read about the magneto...
