Re: Murray River Boat

Be nice to see the pom proven wrong. I can load my long boat up with four people and spare out board etc, camping gear for three plus a couple of chilly bins, and boat still goes 8 knts. It is very important to put the weight in the right place. Displacement hulls are easily driven if weight is dist...

Hey Bruce if you build a good 102 I can supply a twenty footer that you can use to do Waikato river race if you like.

Re: 12' Flat Skiff

If you treat the Ply with everdure it is all good. Cracking is not an issue. Also good quality ply helps a lot. Well worth the effort.

Try a Flint, good little boat for a seagull and very easy to row

Re: What oil?

If you use two stroke oil make sure it is outboard type as it burns at lower temperatures. Some two stroke oils need a higher temperature than a seagull runs at, so it burns.

Re: Which Seagull do I want?

A seagull on a rubber duck seems so wrong better getting a small honda or merc, would suit it better. Seagulls belong on wooden boats  :D :D

Re: Saturday 16th February 2013 Lake Arapuni, Waikato River.

Stunning HOT weather 26degrees, sunburnt brown as, great weekend. 2 days of bliss on the lake. And I broke a few bits. Also seagulls dont like to much compression.

Re: TC--102

I set my ring gaps to 4 thou, over 8 thou and I consider new rings. You may find a lack of compression or back firing thou carb being a few of the problems you will have if ring gaps to big. I would be very wary of the Italians manual has a few mistakes in it. Not all bad.
