Re: Seagull Film Title Needed

Nice work guys, keep them coming. We do have to be a bit careful that we don't find ourselves in trouble over a copywrite though. Which rules out a few good ones unfortunately.

THCL500J8 hits the nail on the head with his comment. That's what we're looking for.

Seagull Film Title Needed

Guys, My partner Nina and I, with a huge amount of help from our various Seagull racing friends, (including a few who frequent this forum) have spent the last couple of years working on a documentary centring around the build up to the 30th Great Annual Waikato Seagull Regatta. Nina is well down the...

Re: 20 foot race boat (NZ)

I think it should be 20ft +/- an inch max. I reckon anyway.

Re: Wanted - black & white or old seagull footage

Thank you,

That's pretty good! Definitely the style of video we're after. The 'Announcement' style audio is great!

If anyone has any other material please post. Thanks!

Wanted - black & white or old seagull footage

Chaps,

I'm searching for any historic seagull outboard footage. Can anyone provide anything like this? Web links, VHS, DVD or otherwise? Happy to pay any costs. We'd like to open our seagull documentary with some historic footage, but it's proving very hard to come by :-/

Any leads?

Re: Bay of Islands New Zealand Event 2014

Nice work Chris. I only took two photos all weekend and Nina made a point of leaving her camera at home!

Re: 20 foot race boat (NZ)

I still rate the hard chine concept. A bendy ply boat is pretty good, but they need to be wide to generate the lift. I think the Chilly Dog boat is wide enough to pull it off, but our first bendy ply boat 'Paris Hilton' was narrow-ish had some problems with trim and weight carrying ability. I'd like...

Re: 5R

Here is the Team NZ 5R that Mr Chicken has just bought back from the dead and re-built for me. The work list was long and every fix revealed another problem! But now she's a runner so full credit to you Cam.

Thanks for your hard work.

Done at last! With some light weight paddles in for good measure.

Re: Beginers Flea? Starter Bermudan?

I think the risk outweighs merit in going too much lighter. There could be a couple of kg to be saved in doing a higher quality job of the same process again, but in going lighter than 20kg, I'm thinking that the hull skins will be too prone to puncture. And we'd look pretty silly if we went through...

Re: Beginers Flea? Starter Bermudan?

Paris 2 is an 8mm closed cell foam core boat. 60kg/m3 foam is about as light as you can go before the skins dent too easily. We've put 140g of prepreg carbon on each side, with extra reinforcing down aft where most of the standing and kneeling will be done. I guess you could go lighter still by usin...
