Re: Tough little Beasties
Hi Smutts Good work! Would you be able to post some pics of your Seagull? It might be worth mentioning that you should entertain removing the head so you can have a look at/clean out the water galleries on your motor, if you have been following the thread about the CP on here then you will see how t...

Hi all Today I've been working on getting my other TD ready for our wet meet this coming Sunday. I have put the gearbox from AD13945 on it as it is in perfect working order, and with exams coming up every day this week I don't really have the time to get Te original gearbox to the TD working... I kn...

Re: Airfilter Seagull Type WSPCL1284D1
Hello and welcome to the forum!
Could you post a pic of the carburettor your motor currently has fitted?
The WSPC's had either an AMAL 416 carb or an AMAL twin-jet carb I believe.
I have attached pics of both types of carbies below.
Thanks to SOS for the exploded diagram
Cheers

What was your first ever outboard?
Hi all A bit quiet on here recently so I thought i'd try and get some discussion happening... What was your first ever outboard motor? The very first that you got... Probably not all going to be Seagulls, so we'll see what happens. My first one was a 1968 5hp Johnson (Australian edition). Bought it ...

Re: Newbie from Suffolk
If I was to buy it I'd only tidy it up make sure it runs and move it on as long as I could sell it to cover my costs of buying it shipping it to me and what ever parts it would need to put it right. I don't really need another engine but I do like working on cars etc and enjoy getting things that d...

Re: Newbie from Suffolk
Oh right that's handy to know I'm really not sure what they are worth but I need to find out what the shipping will cost and how much the parts will cost me to buy to fix it to know if it's worth my while in buying it. In honesty it looks to be in good order I've seen worse but worries me that's it...

Re: Newbie from Suffolk
Hi Ross
The parts that are missing from the 40+ are relatively easy to get.
I am the person on this forum who collects data from the SJP model 40+ motors.
Do you have the pics and serial number of the motor in question?
Cheers

Re: Evinrude (1914 Model B?) Row Boat Motor
Originally there was a buzz box and external battery to power the motor, after 1915 you had the option of having a flywheel magneto but still an external battery. What was the original means of generating a spark?
No more hi-jacking from me S!
