They haven't get a clue
I do love it on E-bay when they haven't got a clue what they are on about or even selling. But this one made me laugh, as I do keep an eye on the outboards in my quest to fill up the shed, so I don't just collect seagull's but anything interesting or old, I'm up to about thirteen outboards and never...

Re: Forty - runs only on full choke
I wouldn't think that compression is the problem as it seams to start well, it maybe the plug, but i still use a Lodge plug and can take the plug apart to clean.
running to deep could choke the engine up over time, so a good clean out may help.

Could be a number of things, if carb is ok, has good compression and a nice spark, you could have air leak on the crank seals or crank case.

Amal Carburetor
Hi, looking for a set of jets for an Amal two jet carb, the pre 416 seagull carburetor.
Have seen jets about, but have not got the original jets, so have no idea what I'm looking for.
Help.

Re: Beginners design and build
An interesting thread. So could anyone shed some light on boats that are capable of taking a bigger outboard, rather than having to sit with a six foot tiller extension? I have outboards from 2hp to 9.9hp, I do have a small tender that I used at the last Seagull outing, which is ok for outboards up ...

Re: Fuel tank knobs/projections
What are the two projections poking out of the front of the brass fuel tank?

Re: any ideas what this is.
Its a honda engine with a reduction box on an outboard leg. I have seen this sort of thing before and wouldn't want one, but a replacment engine wouldn't be a problem, as its a honda.
