But then again I looked at the nostalgia page on SOS website and it does show it being used with two hands in a factory brochure.
Cheers Hugo.

British Seagull made a light alloy (?) carry handle at one time A friend bought one of those but, if it the thing you are thinking of, it was not much use because the two handles that closed around the drive shaft did not close together so that you could carry it with one hand. It was even more dif...

Well it is AD 6809 so nothing too special (48/49) but it is complete and has all the parts for another AD I have so between the two I'll have a good motor with plenty of spare parts. Someone chromed the tank which looks odd but it has a big ding in the front.... shame as there are no dings at the en...

These are the only other photos I have. Slight bit of surface rust on the head. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/cad69/e895_1.jpg Can't make out if the magneto is domed or not. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/cad69/e93f_1.jpg All will be revealed on Saturday. Lots of useful parts if not...

Took a bit of a gamble and bought this on ebay. Hoping it has the early magneto. The bent over screw ends on the transom brackets leads me to think it will be an early WW11 model.... any thoughts? Hopefully I'll pick it up on the weekend. Bit of a pig in a poke me thinks. http://i26.photobucket.com/...

Re: Fill er up
How long will a Silver Century run wide open throttle on a tankful of petrol? How does one most conveniently refill the tank when on the water? Less than an hour on full throttle for a standard tank. As for filling them up it is a worry on choppy water. Causes me grave concerns seeing slosh on a ho...

Strewth...... if you heard the racket my '82 102 makes you would certainly rethink that it is quieter than a century. It is quite positively impossible to use. No way of quietening it down I suppose. Probably need to put some heat/water proof dampening material around the exhaust tube... any ideas? ...

Don't worry, I don't have roos in my top paddock.... they have all been accounted for. As mentioned before I wish to make a paddle wheeler with each sidemounted paddle belt driven from its own seagull and thought for asthetics it would be better if both sides looked the same hence the need for one b...
