Re: Crankcase seal - 40 Plus

Definitely not terminal, but you would have to pull the motor apart to fix the problem and at the same time you could see what the condition is of the internal parts. Its normally worn crank bushes that will course more of a problem with starting and running. Its up to you if you wish to live with ...

Crankcase seal - 40 Plus

Hi, Haven't posted on here as I was Seagull free for a while - now like an addict in relapse I have bought a couple of 40's! One is in really good nick and seems well looked after - starts and runs fine, but there is a weep of fuel from the join of the two halves of the crankcase. Checked the bolts ...

Leaky fuel tank cap

Hi, I have two of the plastic type fuel caps with the metal breather screw. Both leak from the breather screw when laid down on their side, even though the screw is tight. What is the cure for this? It's an annoying problem!

Re: Replacing captive washers on thumbscrews

Thanks for that. It is a tricky job - as a matter of interest does anyone know how they did this in the factory? Did they have a special tool?

Replacing captive washers on thumbscrews

Ok, I have never been very good at this. So can any one tell the best technique to re-attach a captive washer to a seagull thumbscrew?

Thanks in expectation!

Flywheel nut

Can anyone tell me the BSF correct size of the Seagull 40 series flywheel nut? I know the size fits the Anzani Pilot, and I need to source a non-domed flywheel nut for a little pilot I am re-building.

Thanks in expectation

Yes, I'll take some pics once I have tidied it up. Quite a rare find - such a late model

Re: Anzani Pilot

They used to turn up on Ebay from time to time, even had a couple of sets myself, but haven't seen any for quite some time. I may have a set in the shed, but not going out to look just yet. Many thanks - if you ever find a set I'd be very interested! Saving Old Anzanis - doesn't quite sounds right ...

Re: 45 Wanted

Aha - I found one - a TSEF. Now a happy owner - really nice engine for £79. Lucky find! The quietest featherweight of them all.
