Flicking through gumtree just now and have seen quite a few old outboards, but this one seems interesting.
Any tassie members may be interested?...

Re: Another evinrude!
Hello all Now I'm at the stage where I am going to attempt to get the massive dents in the tank out, and have a couple of options before me - 1. Cut out a section of the tank opposite the dent and knock it out from the inside 2. Try popping the dent out with compressed air in the tank Taking bottom ...

Re: Another evinrude!
Well, I think it ties in 1st place as best buy with a pair of 1970's Merc 45s. One is in really good condition, nothing wrong with it. The other needs some work, but for $50 including factory service manual, it was pretty good! 8) See pic of the nice Merc below. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo...

Hi all Yes she runs! After a new spark plug and some 12-1 in the tank, she started third pull. It pumps water like it was new, and idles down nicely. This one will remain unrestored, but work will be done on the massive dent in the fuel tank. Here is a pic of it running, and more pics will be added ...

Another evinrude!
Hello all Today I went down to Bunbury to pick up a nice Evinrude 2hp sportsman as my next project. A big thanks to SOS member AusAnzani (Spiro) for informing me of the listing. It has had one owner since new, and allegedly runs... Cylinder barrel has been welded up for some reason, but it still tur...

Re: Seagulls on gumtree
It isn't a bad place to look for seagulls, but here in WA all the seagulls for sale are ridiculously overpriced, not so bad in the eastern states.
I'm sure you will find something to fit the bill.

Seagulls on gumtree
Hello all Recently there has been an influx of seagulls placed on gumtree, with most of them Having been modified. Right now, there's a pair of 102's (AD) up for sale, and in the ad if you look closely you can see that the exhaust tube of one of the 102's has been put back with the water outlet/tell...

Hi B
Good score with that. After a clean and polish it should be as good as new!
Yes, weather today isn't very good, hail forecast and torrential rain all day.
Enjoy your new toy

Re: My first Seagulls
Hello all Back to work on my seagulls today. SJP654H5's powerhead is slowly coming apart, but after two weeks of trying various methods to get the seized piston out of the cylinder block my progress has come to a standstill. I have left soaking in diesel outside in a black plastic bag for a week - n...

Re: Size isn't everything.
Now that is a nice boat! You have done a great job on fixing it up.
That is a perfect pair with that seagull.
Regarding pictures, I upload mine to photobucket and then just paste the IMG Link into the post.
Good luck with it!

Hmmm Forget the seagulls, check out this Merc's pulling power! http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo191/AusOB_Collector/7BE8F190-3A12-40BF-AC54-D2D756F4C89F_zpsnfzdmkmf.jpg Back to topic Probably the biggest boat pushed by a seagull I have seen is a 20ft cabin cruiser. Can't wait to hear what ...

Yes very nice, a good score! It is a Cary jet by Garelli (Italian company). They were produced in the 60's (between 1960 and 1968. Engine cowl is usually the same light blue as lower unit. See video for some more info etc... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c7SpTlOvmig Edit - it produces 4hp with an ai...
