That serial is the exact one the owner advised. I checked, and it doesn't come up with a specific year on the SOS identifyer.
BTW, tomorrow is Friday.

Re: A hard to answer question
Hi B just got more info from seller - Serial - TD95905 Standard shaft, direct drive. It does have a dent in the tank, most seagulls do! so not too worried about that, I believe that the carb is the replacement AMAL 416 not the two-jet, so I may change it back some time down the track. I am onl...

A hard to answer question
Hi all I was wandering if any of you would be able to put an estimated value on a 102 for me. Basic info - -In original crate -With both manuals (original) -running but needs a new fuel line I know this is hard without pics, but the seller hasn't sent me any yet. Any ideas appreciated. Re: British anzani super single outboard
Hi Keith
No. I haven't seen a real sharland before. I have only come across pictures. It's interesting why anzani made their SS in the same way as the sharland.
Any more pics?
Cheers

Re: British anzani super single outboard
Keith, you seem to have an older one than mine; so I now have possession of the second oldest SS known. I have the oldest one in Australia and until proven otherwise, the oldest one in original and unrestored condition. 8) Thumbscrews are plated brass, just had another look at mine. Anyone els...

Re: British anzani super single outboard
No, there shouldn't be brass thumbscrews.
The serial no. is on the crankcase lug to the right of the carburettor.

Hi Keith
If it's not too much to ask, would you be able to advise the serial of that one?
It doesn't look that bad...

Re: British anzani super single outboard
Hi Nudge
B has recommended not touching the gearbox because it has not been apart before at all; it is common that the end cap on the SS's are butchered as people do not have the correct removal tool and do not know they have a left hand thread for the end cap bolt.
Cheers

Re: British anzani super single outboard
Hello all Have recently been pondering about the anzani SS's and believe that I have one of the oldest(if not the oldest) one around. A fellow collector here in WA has one that is less than 200 serial numbers younger than mine - I have SS 4537 S and he has SS 4763 S. Both cylindrical fuel ta...

Talk to Chester in Katanning about one, when I was thinking about getting that seagull and Johnno for myself I recall talking to him and he mentioning he collected old mowers etc as well.
If not, try Howard as he may have one as well.
Good luck
Cheers

By the sounds of it, no oil?
Seagulls are quite indestructible so you should be ok.

Re: Can Not Find My Burette
B On the fuel taps I have made serviceable the original cork has been used, and I just boiled it in a pot for about 20 mins at a relatively high temp, a rolling boil I find is best. Grease afterwards and should be fine. OR try soaking in petrol for 24hrs before use and that should also do the trick....

Re: 1965 Johnson 5hp
Keith The 5's didn't come off the factory line with a thermostat installed, but the 6's does. As the water exits through the exhaust tube/leg the water is pushed out of eight little hold just under the steering casing. So exhaust pushes the water out, a new impeller helps with that as well... http:/...
