Re: Lerryn Race

What a scholar and a gentleman you are Richard! I had to leave - temptation / drink and drive and such. I really wasn't moaning about the lack of a bottle just lack of recognition from Capt Slow - or anybody . .sob . .sob . I didn't think there was a trophy for the over 12' s but if so it would go w...

Re: Lerryn Race

Well - I haven't been on the site for some while! Never mind, my interest in Seagulls and discussing their mechanical anguish will be renewed soon after relocation to that village which started the obsession - Lerryn. Anyway, looking at the 2016 Tide Times I would hazard a guess at Saturday the 24th...

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2013

Yes I know the ubiquitous Doom is alright. But it doesnt have the flavour of the Arvour. Whose on tonight? If Kerry is behind the bar she gives me a hard time if I complain the Arvour is sour. Solid sunshine is the Monday Fowey forecast. Any spares / tools you need brought? Chuki will be there and t...

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2013

Blimey you're nearly a local already. I have'nt looked at tommorows forecast yet. Been out testing today? God I hate Seagulls . . . Hoiked the bloody engine down to Dennis' battered tiny little sinking glass fibre thing to test the motor yesterday. It poured petrol and wouldn't start. Started it tod...

Re: Morris Marina

I think British Leyland completely re engineered and re badged the Marina in Aus. I suppose if the engine was sited further back ( and the suspension completely changed) it might have been viable. But then why bother? And in New Zealand they didn't even call it a Marina . . . What I am after you fin...

Re: handheld gps

I have a Garmin GPS 60, obtained as a recon item from Amazon a few years ago. I am mostly confused by what to do with it although It works very well, gets the satellites quickly and shows me what speed either in knots or mph how fast the skiff is beating Anorak at Lerryn. I do have a book to illumin...

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2012

Next June and December seem a long way forward but when you are extremely old like wot I am I know they aren't. Well - didn't see the trophy but haven't been in the pub since and this Saturday, usually my Lerryn wall building day I'm on a 9 to 5.30 VHF ship to shore course to possibly get the lifebo...

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2012

Now then Allen, (at risk of being ostracised from the site) my good mate xxxxxxxx is waiting ready in the wings with blueprints of a full race rig. Of course you will need to be very rich nowadays to fit 170's or Kingfishers. And what is more you will need a very long pair of powered waders to get o...

Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2012

Well Allan, Captain Slow is having our trophy engraved as we speak . . . Ahh next year - hope there will enough time to build that 11.99' special to thrash you south east pretenders. Did you ogle the line up of 170's and racing hulls? What a disaster they were!! Don't know what happened to the Philp...

Seagull 170

Any one got a good 170 block or the remains of a defunct 170 engine?
Thank you,
Andy
