Bitza! What Model?
Picked this up the other day I have a plan for the motor a Silver Century WSL July '74. Its the leg that's got me thinking, thought about putting a TD or AD top end on it but it looks earlier. Could someone tell me what model it was the exhaust suggests its late 40's, has a Bronze Mount and the Gear...

Re: 1967 Century Rebuild
Thanks for the link some good information there. I used the powder primer because I had access to it (cheap), it’s not available to the general public we use a grey and black primer powder as well as the more common gloss powders. The primers have good build and flow characteristics wet paint adhesi...

Re: 1967 Century Rebuild
Have had no luck finding a replacement gearbox casing or a good spares motor what I have done is coat the inside of the casing with a metallic cement. After a couple of days I then powder coated the casing with a powder primer that’s used by alloy wheel manufacturers. I’m happy with the result hopin...

Re: 1967 Century Rebuild
Thought about it over night will look for another casing or motor. I will try to patch this one up its just going to cost time may be a spare. This casing looked serviceable before I bead blasted it will do it again if there is any visible corrosion. Not planning to hit any trees on the run, with go...

Re: 1967 Century Rebuild
A spare motor bought for spares was in terrible condition looks like he spat the dummy and took to it with a hammer, head barrel, con rod, cases, mag and flywheel all damaged beyond repair. The gearbox housing on the Century is very corroded been thinking of ways to save it I don't think welding is ...

Re: Removing rust from water jacket
Molasses mix is between 7 to 1 and 10 to 1, my last mix was weaker as I added enough water to
cover the parts still worked.

Re: Removing rust from water jacket
The only way to check blind areas would be to a drill hole then plug it (Dont ask me where to drill). Using Molasses is very slow also it stinks last time I used molasses it took a week to clean some cast brackets. With a barrel I will take it out a couple times a week and give it a high pressure cl...

Re: Removing rust from water jacket

Found this on the Old Marine Engine site anyone tried this- RUST REMOVAL Rust can be safely removed off of STEEL parts by converting the rust it...

Re: and yet another one
I was lucky enough to be given a motor it was a long shaft 40 plus but there was a condition. I was never, ever, EVER to give it back found the missing transom mount cleaned the wasp nest from under the flywheel starts easy now it was the motor I used at the Oz Nationals. I did take it back to show ...
Re: "Oh Dear"
Outboards No but quite a few times with Motorcycles get a expert to weld it (not a mate around the corner) then clean it up yourself, It can be a invisable repair. First you still have to get the shaft free if its the same as a Century I would dismantle the gearbox then take out the pinion & bus...

Re: Paddlewheelers at Mildura
Rob also had his 102/40 there, what a neat combination I was quite impressed whith its performance. The river was flowing at 2 or 3 knots and against the current it felt like we were at hull speed at only half throttle and we could talk to each other. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajo...

Re: Paddlewheelers at Mildura
What a top day it was not possible to count the number of Paddle Wheelers there, I only saw one vintage (classic) outboard that was Rob and his Seagulls. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/RobGreenBean.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r563/Bezzajohn/RobGreenBean4.jpg http://i1...

Re: What carb is this?
Looks like a Mikuni carby that would have been fitted to a 50-90cc scooter its on its side and would
not run in that position. Made in Japan or China.
